Note about Care Packages:

First off, letters are great, hakuna matata about sending anything but. A letter updating me on your life, a funny card, a poem, cut-out comics, a drawing or a picture would be AWESOME!!!!!! I also can return the favor of a letter as long as there is a return address J

If you want to send me a package though, let me say thank you, thank you for even considering sending me a care package!!! And here are some tips from other volunteers:

-Packages can be expensive!! Staying under 4 pounds helps or even just using padded envelopes!
- Write used clothes or education materials on the customs form, it’s less likely to be opened. Do not write electronics or food, it may be opened and stolen.
-Feel free to remove boxed food from boxes and send in sealable plastic bags to save room (though save the instructions please)
-Using tampon boxes to put items
-Label the outside using bible verses or saying it’s educational materials

And some delicious delicacies/assorted goodies that would be a sweet treat:

-A few picture books-lots of pictures and just a few sentences/page (culturally sensitive)
-Art supplies: stickers, construction paper, glitter, glue, pens, ect.
-Brownie mix (for 8x8 pans)
-Brown Sugar-for some reason it’s hard to find in any place other than large cities
-Mac and cheese
-Goldfish
-Hot chocolate packets
-Chocolate/Gummy Bears/Swedish Fish (individually wrapped so I don’t eat it all at once and can use them in making cookies! J )
-Music CD of good songs (classic oldies or new-I don’t have much of either right now on my computer)
-Good smelling soap
-Good smelling candles (electricity goes out a bit, mine as well make the place smell good while I’m sitting by candle light J )
-Tuna
-Oatmeal
-Grated Parmesan cheese in the green can
-Positive vibes
But honestly, anything you send will be awesome and will be used!!!!! J

THANK YOUUUU!!!!!!!!!
